Stephen M. Renas.(2013). The Pre-Injury Earnings Base. Journal of Legal Economics 19(2): pp. 65-76.
A search of the forensic economics literature reveals no dearth of material on the net discount rate (or the discount rate and growth rate separately), on work life expectancy, on employer-provided fringe benefits, or on personal consumption expenditures. Of these four, the first three are important in an evaluation of present value of loss of earning capacity in injury cases, and all four are important in an evaluation of present value of loss in death cases that require a reduction for personal consumption.
